Menu Plan Monday – October 17, 2011
This Week in Meals…
My grocery bill is still getting the hang of having three adults here full time to feed. On top of it all, The Little Empress seems to have (finally!!) discovered that food and in particular, protein, is indeed wonderful. Oh, my poor grocery bill. Time to start hitting those coupons a bit more heavily, I think!
Breakfasts & Lunch
We’re going light on the brekkies this week — we’re mostly looking at cereal in the morning, maybe some
Dinner
I went on a little Costco binge last week which resulted in a nice bit of meat — including bacon, ground beef and chicken — to fill the freezer. I still need to find a way to stretch it out some more but I think we’ll be okay.
- Monday – Omurice オムライス (chicken rice wrapped in an egg omelette)
- Tuesday – Panfried salted mackerel with steamed rice
- Wednesday – Grilled teriyaki chicken thighs
- Thursday – Hawai’ian style Loco Moco
- Friday - Homemade pizzas
- Saturday – Japanese style chicken curry rice
- Sunday – Leftover buffet
Have a great week!

This Week in Meals…
There’s been some changes around here, namely adding another adult to our weekly menu since we have added a new housemate in the form of our best friend, Rainbow Dash. It’s definitely a new thing to add another full grown adult to the meal rotation — now we have 3.5 (the .5 being my sister who only lives with us part time) adults plus The Little Empress to feed — but it’s manageable.
Breakfasts & Lunch
With the change in TLE’s preschool, we’re now looking at breakfast and lunch for both of us all week, which is a change. Breakfast is cereal and milk or breakfast burritos; TLE gets milk while Mommy gets coffee.
Dinner
I’m still trying to get the hang of feeding 3 adults in the evening while still having leftovers for The Hubs ™; gonna take some adjusting.
- Monday – Teriyaki baked chicken thighs & drumsticks; rice; stir fried bok choy
- Tuesday – Panfried mackerel; veggies; rice
- Wednesday – Spaghetti with meat sauce
- Thursday – Baked tilapia
- Friday - Fried Rice
- Saturday – Vietnamese caramelized pork with eggs
- Sunday – Leftovers
Have a great week!

This Week in Meals…
It is just another regular week around our home without anything really special planned.
Breakfasts & Lunch
Daddy doesn’t eat in the morning; TLE tends to eat bread or cereal. Mommy has coffee after dropping off TLE at preschool. TLE gets lunch at school; Daddy and Mommy both have leftovers from the previous night.
Dinner
- Monday – Vietnamese-style sour fish soup (canh ca) with tilapia, served with rice noodles
- Tuesday – Japanese beef curry
- Wednesday – Pan fried mackerel, pickled vegetables, miso soup, served with steamed rice
- Thursday – Parchment baked tilapia with tomatoes, scallions and soy (recipe later this week!)
- Friday - Pho Friday (going out to eat pho, Daddy & TLE’s favorite meal)
- Saturday – Out for the week
- Sunday – Something from the freezer
Have a great week!

This Week in Meals…
Breakfasts & Lunch
Simple brekkies for this week: toast with either eggs or Nutella and dulce de leche (it’s like dessert for breakfast!) with a cup of coffee. Lunch for The Hubs ™ is whatever he didn’t get to eat the night before
Dinner
*sigh* It looks like The Hubs ™ is going to be on crunch time most of the week so no real “fun” dinners tonight. (What’s the fun of making an awesome dinner if there’s no adult to enjoy it?!) So it looks like we’re in for a week of “Well, I guess this is okay…” dinners.
- Monday – Omurice
- Tuesday – Enchiladas (made with freshly made tortillas from an awesome local tortillera)
- Wednesday – Pulled pork quesadillas with salsa
- Thursday – Omurice, revisited
- Friday - Leftovers
- Saturday – Filipino BBQ Riblets with rice
- Sunday – Pizza
Have a great week!
